Pedagogical practices are research evidenced-based best teaching practices. They are used to design, monitor and assess learning. The School Effectiveness Framework (SEF K-12) provides many samples of research-based practices that should be considered as part of a focus on deep learning.

Pedagogical practices include a variety of good teaching methods. Assessment is carefully interwoven, with descriptive feedback offered to students in a timely manner.  Effective pedagogical practices are engaging for students, and are differentiated to meet all students' needs.
